TWIZZLE · FAITH & DATING
A thoughtful first date: room for conversation
Keep the first meeting simple, comfortable and grounded in real life.
Choose something simple
A first date is a chance to find out whether you enjoy each other’s company. A coffee, a daytime lunch, or an activity in a busy public place can leave room for conversation without making the occasion feel enormous.
Agree on a time and place together. Consider travel, accessibility and cost. Neither person needs to prove their interest by spending more than they are comfortable spending.
Be curious, not rehearsed
Ask about the things they enjoy, the people who matter to them, and what they hope for in life. Faith can be part of that conversation without turning the date into an interview. “What helps you feel connected to your faith?” leaves room for a personal answer.
Listen to how they respond as well as what they say. Do they ask about you, respect your opinions and accept your boundaries? Shared beliefs matter, and so does the way someone treats you.
Leave yourself choices
For an initial meeting, choose a public place, arrange your own transportation, and tell someone you trust where you are going. Avoid sharing your home address or financial details. You can leave whenever you feel uncomfortable.
Twizzle does not perform background checks. A profile or faith statement is not a guarantee of someone’s identity or intentions. Take time to build trust. If you would like another date, say so; if you would not, a brief, kind response is enough.
